Before Parker & Abbey Photography was ever a business, it was just something Parker loved.
He took photography classes in high school and absolutely excelled. While most people were just completing assignments, Parker was out capturing landscapes—bringing his camera along on trips and taking photos in places like Hawaii and London. It was something he was naturally good at, but at the time, it was just a hobby.
That all changed while we were dating.
A mutual friend asked Parker if he would take her brother’s engagement photos. He wasn’t totally sure about it at first, but with a little encouragement from me, he agreed. I tagged along, holding a second camera with absolutely no idea what I was doing… and somehow, I completely fell in love with it.
There was something about capturing real moments and genuine connection that just clicked for me.
After that session, I dove in headfirst. I created a blog and Instagram to start sharing our work, and we began taking on more sessions together. Parker would photograph, and I would focus on posing and helping people feel comfortable in front of the camera.
As we went, I learned everything I could from him—and eventually invested in photography courses to really understand lighting, settings, and how to create images that felt intentional and consistent.
What started as something small quickly began to grow.
Over time, it snowballed into something we never could have fully planned. What was once a hobby turned into a business that now serves incredible clients as an Idaho Falls and Rexburg photographer, capturing families, couples, and weddings in a way that feels natural, joyful, and true to them.
While we still love shooting together when we can, most sessions today are photographed by one of us individually—working seamlessly in the same style we’ve built side by side.
Over the years, we’ve been honored to be named Best Photographer of Greater Idaho Falls five years in a row (2021–2025), and have had the opportunity to edit for photographers all across the U.S., including California, Arizona, Michigan, Kansas, Utah, Texas, New York, and beyond.
But more than anything, what means the most to us is the trust our clients place in us.
We’ve had people tell us they can instantly recognize our photos when they see them—before ever seeing our name attached—because of the consistency, the light, and the feeling behind each image.
That’s always been our goal.
